Hamas Spokesman: Ceasefire does not cover smuggling or weapons production 2006-11-26 Dr. Aaron Lerner Date: 26 November, 2006 IMRA interviewed Hamas spokesman in the Gaza Strip Musheer al-Masri, via telephone today (with Dr. Michael Widlanski acting as translator): Q: What is the nature of the ceasefire? A: The ceasefire is a mutual ceasefire and it has to include a halt to Israeli aggression against the citizens in Gaza. In return it is a stoppage in the firing of missiles. Q: But what about the manufacture of weapons and the introduction of weapons from Sinai? A: It is a mutual ceasefire. They stop firing and we stop firing missiles. Q: But what about the manufacture of missile and what about the introduction of weapons from Sinai? A: It is a mutual ceasefire. Q: So that's what it is. It does not include the other things. A: That's right.
