Murdering the State Rather Than Democracy/Sarah Tiktinski 2006-11-20 If a man would have been shot to death while committing an unsuccessful attempt to assassinate the Prime Minister, would the state of Israel compensate his family ex gracia ? This question remains pending as a result of the shameful decision of the state of Israel to grant an ex gracia payment to the families of the demonstrators who were killed during the October 2000 riots. "Ex- gracia compensation" is in this case a politically correct expression, replacing the authentic expression- " Rewarding Terror". This is the sad reality nowadays. An attempt to assassinate a Prime Minister is regarded here in Israel as an offense more severe than assisting the enemy at war. An attempt to assassinate "democracy" is regarded more severe than an attempt to destroy the state itself. This is the true hierarchy of values of the state of Israel in the year 2006. Democracy has an upper hand upon the state. The fetus has an upper hand over the womb. It is true that without the womb, the fetus can not exist, but who cares? As long as we have demonstrated "Western Enlightenment" by placing the political tool necessary to run the state, before the existence of the state itself. The government's decision to compensate the Arab families that took part in the riots of October 2000,opens us a window to understand the bizarre expressions of Israeli compassion. One future scenario which may soon become reality rather than fiction is as follows: In the next war when we will be attacked by Egypt, Iran and Syria with the backing of Terror acts on behalf of Hizbullah and from within the territories of the Palestinian Authority - the rights of the casualties within the fifth column among us, Israeli Arab citizens who will die while attempting to assist the enemy through riots in Jaffa, Akko, Lod and Ramle, and through disrupting army transportation along Wadi Ara highway , the rights of those "victims" will be equalized to the rights of the families of the IDF victims. Both will be compensated by the Israeli government. |
