Palestinians to cover rocket's damages 2007-11-20 A bill has been offered by members of Knesset stating that the Palestinian Authority be made to pay damages for property damages from Arab rockets. As Israel is currently holding onto taxes and customs revenue held by the Jewish state (according to the Peres agreement) until a more moderate Arab leadership arises, the legislation proposes that this money be used for property damages from Arab rockets that the Israeli government is currently paying. There is already a precedent for this move because Israeli companies have already been able to foreclose the money owed to them by the PA from this source. Its clear that financial repercussions are not enough to deter our enemies but in addition to the political and military repercussions Israel must exact on the Arabs, our government should also confiscate money owed for terror damages. Some might argue that Israel is also damaging PA areas through our military reprisals but any objective observer knows that these reprisals only take place in response to Arab terror against Israeli civilians, thus placing the responsibility back on the PA. |
